INDIANAPOLIS September 2016 The national headquarters of the Forty & Eight cordially invites members of the News Media to our 97th annual Promenade Nationale (national convention) at the Holiday Inn French Quarters Hotel, 10630 Fremont Pike, Perrysburg, OH 43551, September 13 – 17, 2016.
There will be opportunities for interviews and videotaping colorful events, to include:
8:30 am Wed. Sept. 14, 2016 Color Guard Competition; Depot Ballroom
11:00 am Wed. Sept. 14. 2016 Children Clown Party; Holidome
4:30 pm Thur. Sept. 15, 2016 Opening Ceremony, Flags, Memorial; Track 123
1:00 pm Fri. Sept. 16, 2016 Awards (Hero, City, Law Officer, Americanism); Track 123
Parade locomotives will be on display nearby.
Among the awardees on Friday will be our 2016 Law Officer of the Year, Hesston Kansas Police Chief Douglas Schroeder, who on Feb. 25, 2016, singlehandedly ended a shooting spree. that had already left 3 dead and 14 wounded in a crowded factory of 300, thus saving many lives.
The Forty & Eight is a charitable honor society of American veterans since 1920. Its official name is La Societe des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux, derived from the French railway experience of US troops in WWI.
